Metal Design Furniture Wins Silver at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2013

This year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was another triumph. Packed to the rafters with beautiful things to see and smell, as well as treats to eat and items to educate, it was a great day out for all the family. As you might remember, we teamed up with the fabulous Raine Clarke-Wills of Raine Garden Design to build a sumptuous summer garden.

The relaxing space, entered into the ‘Cool Gardens’ category and named Layers and Links featured violet and red luscious plants, a spot to stop and take some refreshment, and an elegant yet comfortable sofa, neatly tucked into the walls and provided by ours truly. All of these elements combined to create a truly restful garden in which one could easily imagine many happy hours being whiled away. The many layers cleverly constructed into the garden created the illusion of a magical hideaway, like something from a fairy tale.

We were very impressed – and clearly, so were the judges, as we were awarded a silver-gilt medal for our efforts; the second of these to put in our collection.

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show Silver-Gilt Medal 2011

The Potential Feast garden, which showcased our wrought iron dining set at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, went on and won the RHS Silver-Gilt Medal.

The sun shone and a great day was had by all. The Potential Feast design was about pleasure, enjoyment and lifestyle. We loved because it embodies Mediterranean values of al fresco living and dining, fresh herbs and produce, strong bouquets and plenty of family time and relaxation.

The garden was a Feast for the eyes and the pallet too; richly coloured with violet hues and composed of entirely edible plants. The crowds loved it! Pointing out which edible flowers, vegetables, fruits and leaves they could recognise. Who would have thought that tomatoes and lettuce can be decorative as well as tasty?
