Show Gardens we loved at the Chelsea Flower Show

Celebration-of-Caravanning-GardenCelebration of Caravanning

Silver Gilt medal winner, designed by Jo Thompson and sponsored by The Caravan Club.  A mid-1950s aluminium caravan was the inspiration for this garden.  The ideal was to create a caravanners oasis; beautiful, secluded surroundings with practical extras such as a timber decking and a wine cooler.  Planting is natural, with a romantic palette of pink and cream.

The LaLaurentPerrier-Gardenurent-Perrier Bicentenary Garden

A timeless, ornamental garden designer by Arne Maynard.  We loved this gold medal winning garden inspired by the ethos of Laurent-Perrier; quality, attention to detail and a combination of age-old and contemporary techniques.  The champagne inspired garden is elegant, sophisticated.  Our traditional, yet contemporary Oliver metal garden furniture would have looked fantastic in this space!

BeeUpFront-GardenBee Up Front Garden

Designed by Val Christman, came 5th in the people’s choice vote.  This inspirational garden demonstrated how to make the most of a front or side garden at home.  People often neglect their front gardens, despite the fact they may have better views or enjoy more sun.  The l-shaped show garden shows how you can wrap around from front to side and incorporate design features that reflect your personality.

Edible-GardenMiracle Gro’wers Learning Journey

A container garden built to inspire children, parents and schools– showing that you don’t need loads of space to grow your own.  Fruit and veg were seen growing from pots, bags and containers of all shapes and sizes.  The produce in the show garden had actually been grown in schools by kids and were attractively arranged by The Garden Design Centre.

Edible gardens are still a massive trend – last year our metal garden furniture was featured in a garden at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.  This was a stunning contemporary, edible garden that went on to win Silver-Gilt Medal.

You can get full details of all the gardens mentioned by visiting the RHS Website.

Our Metal Garden Furniture at a Magnificent Country Retreat

Following on from our post last week; ‘Oliver Metal Garden Furniture – Top Choice for the Hospitality Industry,’ we’re pleased to let you know that the magnificent Grim’s Dyke Hotel have also chosen the Metal Design Furniture range.

Here you can see the team installing three of our elegant Romano metal gazebos.  Thus creating a shady spot and enabling visitors to enjoy the idyllic countryside setting.  You’ll also see our Oliver metal tables and chairs for stylish comfortable seating.  Guests can enjoy a spot of afternoon tea al fresco while marvelling at building’s rich history.

The hotel is only 12 miles outside central London and offer guests a countryside retreat from hectic city life.  The accommodation is fabulous; four-poster beds and luxury en-suites, designed to reflect the period of the building.  Gillbert’s Restaurant, serving modern British food, is also open to non-residents for lunch, dinner and cream teas.

The restaurant was named after former owner W.S. Gilbert, the famous dramatist and librettist partner of Sir Arthur Sullivan.  Gilbert & Sullivan Opera performances with Dinner, take place bi-monthly throughout the year.  You can find out more by visiting the company website

We’re extremely excited to publish these pictures of our metal garden furniture which now graces the grounds of the Grim’s Dyke.  The garden structures complement the grandeur and elegance of the building which was built based on architect Norman Shaw’s designs in 1890.  Shaw’s distinct style was heavily influenced by the Gothic movement, the wrought iron style structures fit in perfectly.

The laser cut details of the Oliver furniture on the terraces give the look a modern twist.  We hope you’ll agree the end result is elegant and sophisticated with a contemporary edge.
