Metal Design Furniture and Summer/Spring Colours 2015

Metal Design Furniture’s first priority is not just comfort, but also comfort in a style that suits you and reflects your own preferences – and colours are a perfect way of adding the last edge of individuality to your home.

With spring already upon us, we thought it is time to bring you the up-and-coming colour trends for the spring and summer of 2015 to go with your already fashionable furniture.

Fashion and home website pantone.com describes this season’s colour trends as “cooler and softer color choices with subtle warm tones follow[ing] a minimalistic en plein air theme, taking a cue from nature”.

Cushions of softer brown and orange for your Paris chair, such as reddish brown and a subtle yellow, can give your garden a current, trendy feel as well as providing calm and comfort. These colour trends can also be applied to your bedroom, with gorgeous results – shades of blue, green and grey, such as aquamarine and lucite green are particularly fashionable. For example, you can embellish your beautiful Classica bedframe with summery turquoise cushions or a glacier grey throw.

Metal Design Furniture, together with your style and personal preference, can convert your home into a perfect summer dwelling.

Metal Design Furniture with a Selection of Garden Seats!

Last time we heard about the interesting history of garden benches, and a bit about how to match them to your own garden – and with the weather getting lovelier by the day and summer drawing nearer and nearer, it is the perfect time for you to hear some more about the beautiful, elegant garden seats Metal Design Furniture has to offer!

We can provide your garden with a variety of styles of chairs, customised to your own taste and preference.

First, the Paris chair – available with armrests, too, for added comfort – is stunning in its simplicity and gentle, curved design. It is perfect for a small or large garden, and comes in three different colours – choose anthracite grey for an edgier look, or cream or pure white for a subtler, more relaxing look. The Castrum garden chair is a more solid, square creation, and comes in cream white and anthracite grey – which you can mix with bronze or green patina for a bolder statement. This chair’s hot-zinc anti-rust treatment makes it weatherproof and usable at any time of the year! For more information, click here.

Lastly, the Oliver garden chair offers a relaxed Tuscany style and light, ergonomical structure – making it perfect for beauty as well as comfort! This chair also comes in a variety of colours. For more information, click here.

Metal Design Furniture and the History of Garden Benches

Garden benches are something we all know and, at Metal Design Furniture, love – they come in all shapes and sizes, made from wood, stone or metal, simple and rustic or elaborate and elegant. But garden benches were not always so common and in fact have a long and interesting history behind them – who knew?

Garden benches met popular demand in the mid-nineteenth century with the rise of attractions such as public parks and piers – and the masses simply demanded a place to sit and rest after a long day!

Initially, benches were not attractive, refined or comfortable… but thankfully, they were slowly being designed to provide both comfort and a subtle aesthetic.

Garden benches are an essential part of any garden – they act not only as a place of rest or relaxation, but also often as a decorative piece! A Telegraph article suggests that you match the size of your bench to the size of your home, so that your garden remains proportional and balanced. You might also wish to choose a different style of bench according to the way your home looks and is decorated.

Thankfully, at Metal Design Furniture we have a range of garden benches, with different styles to correspond with your taste – to find out more, look out for next week’s post!
